About Fergus

Fergus V. Keyes is a 5th generation Canadian of Irish descent who was born and raised in Montréal. He is a senior business executive with dual qualifications in the area of Board of Directors & Governance, as well as the Safety & Security Industry.

A Chartered Director (C.Dir.) graduate from the Director's College at McMaster University (founded by the Degroote School of Business and the Conference Board of Canada), he is a specialist in Board and Governance issues who is qualified to be a member of a Board of Directors for Public, Private and Not-for-Profit operations.

He also has a second specialty in Safety and Security and is designated as both Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and a Certified Security Professional (CSP).

An experienced, senior business executive with more than 30 years of national and international business knowledge and experience. He is Past Chairman of the Board of two large institutions – one in the Arts, the other one in Health Care field, as well as the Interim National Chair; Québec Chair & a member of the National Board of Directors of the Canadian Society for Industrial Security.

He currently sits on the Board of The Centaur Theatre; The Alzheimer's Society - Montreal; A Board Committee for the CSSS Cavendish, as well as, The Montreal Irish Monument Foundation.

He is a past Chairman & member of the Board of a local History Society.

He is also a past member of the Institute of Corporate Directors ( Institut des Administrateurs des sociétés) and founding member of the PSC Community Theatre.

Finally, Fergus V. Keyes is a past volunteer business mentor with CESO/SACO and a former volunteer firefighter. A strong supporter of theatre and arts, and a community-involved person who, for more than 15 years, has been holding round table meetings on a monthly basis to discuss community, civic-minded and cultural issues.

Descendant d'Irlandais élevé ici, Fergus V. Keyes est fier d'être de la cinquième génération née à Montréal.

Il est un exécutif sénior dans le domaine des affaires possédant des qualifications en matière de direction et gouvernance d'entreprises, ainsi qu'en normes de sécurité et protection. Il est directeur agréé, diplômé du Collège des directeurs (rattaché à l'Université McMaster et fondé par Degroote School of Business et le Conférence Board du Canada). Il est notamment spécialiste des questions de gouvernance ; il peut siéger au Conseil des directeurs dans les secteurs public, privé et des organismes à but non-lucratif.

Fergus V. Keyes possède une deuxième spécialité dans le domaine de la protection et de la sécurité combinant une certification professionnelle en protection (CPP) et en sécurité (CPS).

Il a plus de trente ans d'expérience à titre d'exécutif sénior dans le milieu des affaires, cumulant expérience et connaissances du monde des affaires au niveau national et international. Actuellement, il est entrepreneur et propriétaire de son entreprise (Panamsec Inc.) dans le secteur de la consultation en securité.

Président du Conseil d'administration de deux grandes institutions: une dans le secteur des arts, et l'autre dans le milieu de la santé. Il est également président du Conseil d'administration (Québec) pour l'Institut des administrateurs des sociétés canadiennes pour la sécurité industrielle et membre du Conseil national des directeurs de la plus ancienne Association canadienne en sécurité, membre du Conseil d'administration d'une société locale d'histoire, membre fondateur de PSC Community Theatre, mentor bénévole avec CESO/SACO, et ex-pompier bénévole.

En plus d'être un très grand mécène des arts et du théâtre, M. Keyes est aussi impliqué dans le secteur communautaire où il a tenu, pendant plus de 15 ans, des table-rondes mensuelles pour discuter des principaux enjeux communautaires, civils et culturels.
